Elastic Flame
It is the story of a bear, a cat and a butterfly.
The bear breaks, the cat dances, the butterfly turns into a Lilly. The elastic tribe.
The story begins differently. Even before the elastic tribe had invented fire. In New York, in the 1960’s, in that free jazz nightclub where that drumming pianist plays before a bear, a cat and a butterfly. In Pigalles, in the 1950’s, through the image of a fake world full of strange treasures. And before that, throughout those ancient decades that invented music that was to be passed on.
The elastic tribe is born out of the timelines that it blows up in the heart of the multiverse. It entrusted itself with the task of carrying the flame rustled up with a sublime combination of words, stories and inherited sounds. No one invented this elastical blaze, not even the glorious elders of the future who fan it: what about Focal Point?
My elastic tribe holds its freedom in the glow of this flame. One can do many things, but nothing better than a music that is free and tribal. Take note: a tribe is that singularity that rises in an ocean of others.
It is a never ending story. A bear, a cat, a butterfly tell each other a joke in Japanese, then in Arabic, and then in music. They thus constitute an elastic tribe, with five musicians eager to be together and then. As I said. A never ending story.

Au départ en 2011, une envie simple d’essayer quelques nouvelles compositions avec des musiciens rencontrés auparavant. Très vite, apparaît comme une évidence l’idée de réellement construire un répertoire ensemble, l’envie d’une écriture commune, tel un groupe et non un orchestre et son leader.
Le répertoire est constitué des compositions de chacun des membres du groupe et les arrangements et développements sont pensés en commun.
Une écriture travaillée, pensée par et pour le quintet, qui fait la part belle au jeu collectif et met également en valeur les qualités de chaque musicien.
Le nom de la formation Elastic Tribe décrit aussi bien notre ligne artistique (un répertoire né de nos envies, sans barrière stylistique) que la naissance et l’existence de ce projet : La création d’une tribu, une aventure tant humaine que musicale.
